Default Clay Bar

Is there such a thing as using a clay bar too frequently? I do it about every 8-10 months, and already think I should do it again, but don't know if there are any adverse effects? Anybody know?

Only adverse effects would be the amount of material abosrbed into the clay bar during the paint cleaning process. If it's dirty, scratch and swirl mark city here we come.

every 8-10 months is fine as long as your claybar is in good shape. I usually use 1 Mothers claybar 2 times before throwing it out. I claybar 1 time every 6 months when i fully detail

Just make sure you lubricate it with something.Quick detailer will suffice but something like lubrishine that is made for claybaring will work better.Make sure to wax afterwards.

I use Clay Magic on my car everytime I wax it which is at least once every two months. If you make sure your car is clean of dirt, tar, ext you can use the clay 10+ times before considering throwing it away. White cars require claying more often just because they show the contaminants on the paint alot easier.

For those of you who have never used clay on your cars, go get some you will be absolutly amazed at how smooth and flawless your paint will be when you are done

Just my opinion here, but that's too much clay use- not only the frequency but the number of uses on one clay bar. From what I've read, the reason clay bars work so well is b/c they take a very small coat of paint with them. So they are only intended/recomended to be used once a year. But every 8-10 months won't kill you

Clay your car as much as possible, ok ok like once amonth is fine. JUST be sure to use clean clay and clean soapy water to lube it when wiping on the car. Then be sure to use a very good wax to seal the paint back up.
