Default Flywheel bolts. Need a tap. HELP!

So, on the new motor that I bought for a replacement while I build my LS/VTEC bottom a little more, 2 threads are stripped where the flywheel bolts onto the rotating assembly.

I need to know:
1. Does anyone have a FINE THREAD 12mm TAP for this problem, or where to get one?
2. Anyone else had this problem, and how did you fix it?

Need some help quickly. I'm only running 6 bolts w/lock tight right now. Don't feel the greatest doing that, as you can imagine. Don't know if would make a big difference or not though.

Yes you can get a 12mm fine tap. You will probley have to get it from a speciality tool store. Hemo Depot only have a few metric taps.

If they are striped then you might have to get a heli-coil kit. This actually drills the hole out, put a larger thread in it, then puts a coil in that hole to make it back to a 12mm. They are very storng when done right.

Cool. Any idea on exact size? I know 12x1.75 is way too course. Maybe a 12x1.25? I found a 12x1.25 for $7 at a mom & pop hardware store.

Only the first thred on the block is messed up. I'm hoping that I can just get it cut and the bolt will thread right in.

I dont know what size it is. I would suggest taking a bolt with you and see if they have any nuts you can try, or se if they have a die to match the threads.

Also was the block alllready messed up, or did you mess it up?? If you did i would suggest new bolts also incase you messed any of the threads up on them.

Block was all ready like that. I didn't even notice. Not complaining thought for a b16a2 for $650. Runs good too. Just no vtec yet. I'll figure that one out tonight.

I can't even find a 12x1 tap. I located a 12x1.25, but I still think that's too big.

Anyone have an idea on the size of tap I might need for the threaded holes that hold the flywheel on?
