Default AutoX class

I was wondering what class my type-r would be in if I have a AEM CAI, H&R sport springs, JDM rear strut bar, and an Apexi VAFC. I would really like to get started doing so AutoXing but I'm a little confused about the classes and rules and such. Any help for a beginner would be appreciated. Thanks

CSP I think. Without the VAFC STX maybe? Not sure, haven't read up on STX rules..

VAFC or chipped ECU are legal for STX and that is the class I would recommend. CSP would be quite discouraging for a beginner and someone without race tires.

LOL, CSP can be quite discouraging for a non-beginner with race tires

I would shoot for "Novice class" where everyone is lumped together at first. After that, look at STX with street tires, or SM with race tires (SM has a softer pax scale than CSP).

One problem is that the ITR itself is not allowed in ST. No car with an LSD, factory or aftermarket, is allowed to run Street Touring.

CSP or Street Mod.

In STS and STR you are correct. STX (STX being a class, not X as a variable meaning S or R) allows LSDs.

It is allowed in STX. The only thing that keeps it out of STS is the LSD. Since they made LSDs legal for STX, there is no such problem.

I would go STX all the way.

Really? Is this a new class for this year or only something your region does?

The R is a little outclassed for all the crazy stuff in SM. What are the allowances? Is aftermarket FI allowed?

Unless of course your seat doesn't recline. Then you're screwed!

-231, who is screwed because his seat doesn't recline

New class. FI is in SM. Normal ST rules apply, but STX is limited to street tires like STS. Beyond that, I'm not sure. My integra is E-Prepared.

Thanks, I guess I'll have to pull out some old copies of Fast Tracks and take a look. The last few copies of Sports Car I've recieved have gone right in the old issues box without looking at them much.

Well what are some pointers for a first time at the autoX? Should I just go and watch to see how things work or just jump right in? Does it help to use the nose mask to keep scuffs off the front from cones? And what about any safety equipment for the first time? Thanks again
