Default clutch prob.

Hey guys. When I press my clutch pedal, it doesnt feel like there's any pressure until its almost hitting the floor. It feels very free-moving and awkward. I've had the car for about a yr, and I dont know anything about clutches. This is the first time I've had problems with my clutch. I find this problem strange since it was working fine yesterday, and just today it was acting up. Do I have to get a new clutch? Or is there something else I could check. How much would a new clutch cost If I need a new one. Thanx for the help.

It could be your clutch master cylinder, I had the same in my GSR. Follow the end of your clutch pedal to the firewall; if it's wet, it's the master cylinder for sure.

I would just get it checked out. New clutch should be no more than 375 parts + labor if you look around.

could be that your out of clutch fluid. check the reservoir. you might have to bleed the system a little. 375 for a new clutch is high. i got my exedy stage 1 for 250. you can get oem for cheaper.

you could try bleeding your clutch and check to see if you've messed up your master cylinder. Either of these two jobs are fairly easy to do yourself, just pick up a hanes or helms manual.

there's about 106k on the car and i dont think the clutch has ever been replaced yet. What would cause all this to happen so quickly if i've just been driving it normally? Age?

well than i would say it is just your master because a stock clutch under normal driving should last atleast until 150k. so you should be good with just replacing that.
