HELP d16z6 tranny making noise!!! squicky noise
hey i was wondering if any1 can help me i have a d16z6 tranny and it makes these noises when i get of 1st gear or go on reverse.. its like a very loud squeeky!!! i think its one of the bearings cuz i change the axels already...but i dont know so if any1 can help me it would be greatt.. thanks
Need more details what do you mean by squeek? The two gears dont have anything to do with each other really internally because the reverse is on its own shaft with no bearings whats so ever which is why it makes noise in reverese.
As for the squeek tho check the oil it could be a sign that the bearings arent oil'd properly and are making noise.

And I meant to hit make a new choice btw, not vote for whatever ******* made that choice.
Btw open polls on here are never a good idea, theres to many kids on here who abuse them unfortunetly.

I can't tell you how to fix it, but I can tell you that most transmission shops will take it apart and look at it for like $30. That is if you can remove it and get it down to them(other wise it'll me around $150 more).
I agree, open polls are a magnet to those of the less fortunate. There are so many things that come into play about the squeaking noises. Mine made some funny noises but I knew I needed brakes so I put those on with new rotors and it got rid of all mine.
like when i get off first gear.. as i balance it out it sounds like something is rubbing inside the tranny i am not really sure how to explain the noise but its just a loud squeek as i get off first gear but after that it doesnt do it when i start switching gears.. if u can't help me it kewl.. thanks for the responses...
Sounds to me like a differental bearing or an input shaft bearing. Could also be one of the countershaft bearings it hard to say without cracking it open. I just rebuilt a trans yesterday and it turned out to be three bearings not the one I thought was wrong with it. The two differental's and the input shaft were bad.
