Default How to store car for winter?

I am leaving for college this week and will not be taking my car with me, so I will need to store it in my garage for the time I am there and it will not be driven. Is there anythign special I need to do to make sure it runs good when I bring it back for next summer? I already bought a honda car cover for it, but was wondering if anythign else should be done? I am going to let there be as little gas as possible in it and hopefully my dad will start it and let it run for a bit every month or couple weeks. Am i missing anythign else? Someone said the tires will get bald spots from just sitting there. Is this true?

I dont think the tires would develop bald spots but more like flat spots I think.

theres a good chance they will, depends on softness of tire, etc... but it usually is a good idea, I've also heard putting some wood boards under the tires can almost do the same as putting it on jackstands

putting it on jackstands doesnt work because my car will need to be moved occassionally to get our lawn mower out of the garage and my dad will be too lazy to put it back on stands. so any other ideas that will work?

When having a car sit for long periods of time you should have the car on jackstands or on wood. Also drain all fluids(unless in your case cause car will be started).

So I think for you all you really have to do is keep a decent amount of gas in and park it on some wooden boards.

wood is a lil softer than concrete, and I'd say the less gas the better, and I believe you can get gas stabilizer from like autozone, etc... to throw in there, It'll keep the gas from gelling, going bad, etc..
