03 954RR problems.
My buddies Honda is running fine, but there's a problem. He can't get it to clutch up in second anymore. So I had to hop on it and give it a go. He's right.
We used to ride out 2nd gear wheelies dumpin' the clutch. Now I know the chain and sprockets are fine, because I checked them and you can't hear it skipping teeth or anything.
Does anyone think it's internally? What about maybe the clutch or what? Anything would be great. Thanks.

Well I stunted for a while, and I do wheelies all the time. I know what it feels like. We rev it up going about 25-30 mph up to 11K and it only pops it up about maybe a foot... I don't know what a slipping clutch on a bike feels like but it must be that....It powers fine and drives fine though. IDK
Generally if the clutch is startng to slip it won't go into and out of gear nicely. My clutch was going on ym ZX-7 when i sold it and when i rev'd hard through first gear it would slip out of gear and alot of the time shifting from first to second it would pop into neutral (under hard acceleration)...also if your grinding gears that could be a sign of clutch going....
hmm...clutch slipping and slipping out of gear are 2 different things though...
if the cluch isnt slipping on the 954 then its down on power. i am sure its had a rough life. some proper maintenance might be in order, specifically on the ignition system. a compression check might reveal a tired motor.

i'm with you on this one. It sounds like maybe it's down on power. Clean/replace the air filter. Check the oil, replace the plugs. Who knows.
