Default Buying 06 rsx s. Exhaust Question

This week i will be trading in my severely beaten down first ever car, a 2001 civic dx coupe for a brand spanking new 2006 White Rsx S. My question is:

Which Intake/headers/cats/cat back exhaust do you all prefer? Assuming that many of you own a type s with aftermarket exhaust I want to know what sort of setups people are running.

I want 2.25 - 2.5 inside diameter piping and a quieter non-N1 tip. Any suggestions?

Sucks that you couldn't get an 05 with 9 more horsepower, but atleast your gettin a brand new honda. You should go with an injen race division intake, dc race header and whatever exhuast you like best . After that you need a hondata KPro so you can drop your vtec point because 6000 is way to high to keep the power band smooth. you can gain up to 40-50 horsepower at 5000 rpm and make about 200whp and 148tq without tuning if you use that setup.

the 05 doesnt have more horesepower, the 06 numbers are just SAE corrected.

Same motor, same numbers, NOTHING has changed.

VTEC engages at 5800 rpm, not 6000.

you can make 200whp on an 05-06 with just CAI/h/e... kpro would put you way above that, and i really wouldn't employ the system "without tuning" as you said... that would kind of defeat the purpose of getting it.

Yea 200 rpm makes a huge difference. Besides that, It cost quite a bit of money to dyno tune hondata. and with a stock engine your only gonna pick up a few horsepower, and when you put it on and load up the ITR map you gain over 40hp at 5 grand. I think of a hondata as an investment for the futre when your turbo or sprayed.. And i nice thing to have when your in traffic, alotta extra midrange.

That is correct, the 05 and 06 make exactly the same power, just that Honda is now listing hp in the NEW SAE standard.

NO! Do a search and enlighten yourself on the car. The '05 and '06 have the exact same motor, NOTHING has changed motor wise. As far as the exhaust the type-S already comes with 2.5" exhaust piping so getting 2.25 doesn't make any sense. You aren't going to see dramatic differences from throwing on an exhaust because of the Type-S's exhaust already.

Go to clubrsx.com and read up on the car.
