has anyone replaced wheel bearing(s) before?? if so, how difficult is it?
Some of these steps don't have to be taken but I prefer to do as much taking apart as possible for ease of assembly and as little getting in the way as possible.
With car on the ground, break loose the driveaxle hub nut.
Remove caliper and bracket assembly. Position on jack stand so as not to damage the brake hose.
Remove rotor.
Disconnect steering + suspension pieces from the hub assembly.
Loosen bolts holding the hub assembly to the shock.
Remove driveaxle hub nut and tap driveaxle GENTLY out of the hub. Trick to making this go smoothly is turning the hub knuckle as much to the left or the right without ripping the driveaxle boot, obviously. Also, try and find either a soft tap hammer or something to hit like a piece of 2x4 which will then hit the sticking out portion of the driveaxle. I've heard of people just hitting the axle tip with the hammer making it go from looking like this || to like this / \ and then when it comes time to reinstall, it won't go. One person holds the knuckle, the other taps the driveaxle out of the hub.
Have it pressed in.
Installation reverse of removal. Remember to use lots of PB blaster where necessary to break apart rust and whatnot. Good luck.
