Default transmission problems

car is a 91 ls integra. did a tranny swap, replaced clutch, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing. get everything back together and played with the clutch cable a bit. problem is, it wont move. you can put in all gears but no movement. am i just looking over something? any help would be much appreciated.

Are you saying that things seem normal but when you let the clutch up, it doesn't move? Like the pressure plate isn't engaging the clutch?

yeah everything seems normal. it will go into gear, you can rev it and even see the speedo go up, but the car just wont move.

are you sure its not the drive shafts? i remember when my cv joint broke in my old accord, i put it into gear, and let out the clutch, and didnt move anywhere. but i cant remember if the speedo went up or not.

well its weird, we put the driveshafts in, and he said that through the night tranny oil had leaked out. i was thinking it could just be the seals, but now that you mention it could the half shafts have seperated on themselves, making them to long to fit all the way inside the tranny and knuckle?

if your tranny is like the 94+ the vehicle speed sensor is located on the tranny itself, so theoretically the output shaft of the tranny could be spinning and causing the speedo to go up without the driveaxles actually moving... at least i think thats how it works. my first guess would be the driveaxles though, time to unstake those hub nuts!!!

so the speedo actually revolving is a good thing. from what im gathering, the tranny really isn't seeming to be the problem (clutch, pilot, and throwout) its more or less coming from the halfshafts or some other part of the suspension such as the knuckles maybe being too tight? just trying to get this guy back on the road. thanks for the help so far.

eh i wouldnt say so much the suspension side of things, its more than likely a or both of your drive axles.

for example: when i pulled my motor and tranny my passenger side driveaxle wouldnt come out of the transmission so i eseentially grabbed the outer spline (the one that goes through the hub) and pulled with all my weight. To my suprise i ended up on my *** with the other side of the driveaxle completely seperated from the inner cv boot.

so what im saying is when you removed your driveaxles you might have done something that has disconnected something out of view. to check this you could pull the inner cv boot back and see if its all kosher in there if it is then id run the car without the driveaxles and have a friend check to see if the output shaft of the tranny is spinning or not. now im no expert so im really hoping someone with UBER L337 experience will chime in here and give you some real advice. good luck though! driveaxles are a bitch

yeah, i was too tired to look at this the night before, but i got back under the car tonight and saw that a good 1/3 to 1/2 of the axle on the pass. side is sticking out of the tranny. we actually turned the car over and had it in gear and i could see the the axle was vibrating as the transmission was rotating. if one side of the axle is out, will the other not rotate as well. i think i remember reading that somewhere.
