Seen Him at the Track Today
Well, it's no drag car and Hoosiers road race tires were good for only a 2.5 60ft time for me. 14.4 @100mph. I did a 34.4 (FTD) in the autocross but it was all for ***** and giggles because apparently R3s04's are not DOT approved.
Honda Day
BTW: what makes you think it would be a 12 second car?

I'm confused, this guy is trying to criticize the quarter mile times of purpose built road race and autocross cars? That's like giving superman criticism because he can't do brain surgery.

WTF do they mean that Hoosier R3SO4's aren't D.O.T. ceritfied. They are indeed certified otherwise we could no use them for autocrossing.

No way man, Superman can do brain surgery with his laser vision. He's good too, kinda pricey though.
So what's all the hoopla about? Tire fiasco? I saw rodney's post, "DOT" approval apparently means something else to them?
Is there ANY rule they could point to for it? Link?
I found it, nevermind.

The event was OK, but horribly organozed. The tech line was a joke and the only half way decent thing was the auto-x (congrats to the North Jersey SCCA region for putting on a great event!) The course was fast and I got a huge 3rd place trophy for A class
i saw rodney was going nuts there about the tire deal. and i saw some guys with hoosers they were dot but not allowed. didnt seem fair to me. they shoud of been more detailed about it then if they were going to be gay like that.
but i had fun at the super challenge. 14.3 at the 1/4 miles 39 at the auto x hehe. nice to meet some of you guys who did that superchallenge too. i was hoping more people joined it.
i had a good 4th run at the auto x but frigging i gess my dumb *** forgot to close the hood all the way after doing a quick shock adjustment. i had a killer start too
i was rocking oem type r tires on my 5 lug. i wish i had more traction lol
btw that ek was nuts. holy crap.

12 secs!!!! change the injector pulse and that thing will be runnin 9's yo! put his motor in a gutted ef with some slick boys up front, 12 secs, there ya go. That event yesterday was weak, I didnt even compete or anything, I went with 6ghatch and I know I most likely not attend with my new car next year. Yesterday put me down a bit on this stuff. get **** straight and organized. A few guys left yesterday because of that whole stupid tire issue. Have someone to run that event without bias against road racers and who doesnt pull rules out of their ***. javier= a big dooshbag

Can't you see that the head lights are painted black also? This makes the air flow more aerodynamically over the car, thus making it a 12 second car!

Sorry to all I could not make the event, but unfortunately I don't think I may have been able to influence Javier on the late "rules" change.
He and I organzied the First Honda Day Super Challenge. He asked me specifically to write a rules package that would work similiar to a Power Adder system that is used in Pro Import Drags. The rules were "borrowed" from a combination of different clubs and the classes were structed very fairly. (I think anyway as I ran several Scenarios of cars through the system and found that 99% of the combinations were fair.
The orignal intent of the Super Challenge was supposed to be an "arrive and drive" "run whatcha brung" class.
Drive the car to the event and compete. Over the years past allowances were made for DOT radial tires such as Hoosiers, Khumo's and BRG Drag radials. If he felt he wanted to exclude these tires, he should have had me ammend the rules descriptions to add in a minimum treadware rating such as the Street Touring tires rules are ammended. DOT radials are SPECIFICALLY mention as being an allowable modification, but I don't beleive Javier thinks these are truly "street legal" even though some people do actually drive to and from events on Hoosiers, BFG's and Khumo's.
Not here to defend the decision, but from an organizational prospective, The call was made way too last minute based on tire information that has been available for a long long time. Hopefully this won't sour anyone's opinion as this is really a great event. I hope we'll see all of you back next year, and brings some more of your friends.
As previosuly stated, I too offer my congrats to the guys at NNJR for doing what is normally done, setting up a great course...This week no one got wet!!!

You're wrong about that. EVERYONE was wet, it just wasn't rain that was doing it.
<---- sweated completely through every article of clothing he was wearing and then some.

BTW...my comment was not directed at the NNJR guys...they are great people up there.
It's the BS debacle of the rules mis-interpretation that sucks and that's due to the Honda Day organizers lack of clarity in explaining what they wanted.
