Default Safe To Boost?

Ok on 177096 Miles is it safe to boost on my Integra?

The Engine has been rebuilt and the compression is fine, I am just wondering if it would be safe.

If the engine is rebuilt...then you really don't have that many miles on it. What all was rebuilt, and how many miles are on it?

Well, the clutch is stock, and the tranny still has the miles on it, Im actually another user under my uncles name.

Yes, the engine was blown and completely rebuilt before I bought it, i replace most everything they didn't and I'm buying me a Exedy clutch soon.

I was just wondering if it would hold with the internals I have, which is a mild cam setup and new cam gears.

You should be fine. There are tons of people running boost on completely stock motors. I have a stock ls. And I am running 10psi low, 17psi high. the most important part of a turbo setup is fuel management and the tune.

But you should definately upgrade your clutch. Look at the Exedy stage 2 thick. It's a 3 puc clutch...Very drivable...but holds power nicely.

Alright, I may get that exedy then lol, I'm only 17 and its hard to come around money where I live, mainly because no one is hiring, and I'd have to move to Mufreesboro or Nashville to get a job.

And I really want to boost this car and take my uncles S2000.

Well if you don't have money. You really shouldn't boost the car. Boost requires alot of money...and time. Don't do anything cheaply. You will regret it in the long run.

Yea, you could do a kit for 4000. Just don't forget to add tuning into that. That is one thing you really can't skip over.

No tune it, as in taking it to a shop that know what they are doing and tuned it with some sort of fuel management.

I think a place in Cookeville may be able to, you'll never guess what I heard tonight, ok I pulled up on this Yellow teg, bodykit huge exhaust and euro tails and heads, well I go up to guy and ask him if he has a VTEC since he stayed under 5 mph while I was behind him, I had to ask 5 times to get a response and when he finally realized I was Saying VTEC he said "Yea it is" so I asked him if it was a GSR he said "No", so I said, so who done your ls/vtec and he said "I bought it this way" then he said, "I asked honda its stock and rated at 190 hp and I dynoed it". all I said was, "Your a ******* dumbass, honda doesn't vtec ls models."

It probably was a type r since only R's come in yellow. 190 is the stock hp for type R's also.

Hell yes 4000 is enough. Damn. You could have a NICE turbo kit for that much.

4000 is decent. I have almost 6k into my setup with tuning...and it still doesn't have the greatest parts...

i was reading your post and hears a way to be turbo'd cheap but safely. Ebay has a complete turbo kit for about $2090 bucks shipped witha turbonetics t3/t4 hybrid. and $1790 shipped with a t3 60 turbonetics turbo. the t3/t4 has a higher power out put 450-500hp and the t3 60 has a lower output 350hp but spools quicker. get hondata s200 with boost for your tuning which is $495 new and about $350 on hondatech. u also need a obd1 ecu a p28 would be good or p72 they run any where from 80-200 bucks. then you have to get it socketed buy hondata for $65 or you have a great chance of finding a p28 on hondatech already socketed for $150- $200 bucks used. get a thermal 3 inch exhaust and a high flow cat total would be about $750. or a 2.5 inch exhaust with a high flow cat ($550) if your running low boost (7psi) would be fine. i also would recommend 440cc saturated injectors $285 on ebay plus another $30 bucks for obd1 injector clips which is mandatory with an obd2 ecu. all that would be around $3150 with $1790 turbo kit tha other $850 would be for installation and then you would need to have $350 for dyno tuning. all in all you could do it for about $4500 then you will have a quick and reliable car

that is dumb. Ebay kits are pieces of ****. If you are getting a kit, get Full-Race or piece on together yourself.
