Default BeaveRun videos...

Time to study...

Anybody have any in car videos that are at least 1 lap continous?

I searched and only found 1 that will fit my needs...
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=868278

Kofod had a good video too in another thread, but it wasn't a continous lap, good soundtrack too.

Thanks Todd, (let me know if it taxes your bandwidth too much and I will remove the link)

Thanks everyone,
Chris

I have that Warren Video or the Video from RJ, which one do you want... You can only pick one, and the Warren Vid is almost completely DLed.

El Pollo good video, one thing I can input, the pucker factor in 7 is much higher the first few times through than what is depicted in any video. 5 is the start of the back stretch, if you are early you are screwed until 9. There is no such thing as too late into 5.

Oh and bring lots of brake pads and be prepared to rotate tires a lot (your left front will be scorched)

Turn in early, keep your foot all the way in it (no need to lift for that turn at all) and hang on.

Thanks pollo and bud, great vids. these will help a lot.

The grass and the curbing looks strange to me, when I was up at that track it was dirt and no curbing, one of the first weekends I think, that was years ago.

yup, turn before the crest of the hill, close eyes, hit the curbing a little early and hold on.

Speaking of holding on..., who lifts in 9 and who goes full throttle to the braking zone for 10?

Why would you lift in 9?

I lifted cause otherwise I wouldn't slow down in time...that was back when I didn't have the adjustable prop-valve.

This is silly.....the kink in front straight at VIR isn't a turn...unless you're on a bike...

It's all relative.

sorry I had a discussion with a few American Iron/Vette Viper Challenge guys about the subject of lifting in 9 to have enough time to get the car settled and brake for 10. So I figured I would ask here too. Anyway here's a good picture with some highlights of the course:

That's a pretty sweet description. I hadn't thought about doing a pic this way.

im a noob to autoX, I know this is not autoX and is on a much larger scale, but for learning purposes...

would you early apex turn 5 and late apex turn 6?
would you early apex turn 3 and late apex turn 4?

again i realize this is not autoX but pretend that turn like this would be on an autoX course.

Turn 6 and 7 are flat out.... early apex 5 and carry as much speed as possible.

Turn 3 is sort of a non-event, no lifting or brkaing going on there. Carry as much speed as you can through T4.

^^^^thanks man

what is flat out?? is that normal geometric apex (between early and late)?

so for T3 you keep it floored? even if it were in auto x?
if this is true im guessing the turn is deep enough to let you carry full momentum (sp?)?

Flat out means you dont lift or brake, ie you foot is to floor unless you are shifting. In my Civic track car with a LS motor with bolt ons and alot of suspension work. I am "flat out" from 5-9(whoops i said 5-10 first time). My car is going appox 115-120(near top of 5th gear) by the braking zone for 10. What sucks is discovered i could do this at the last R expo here(04), but i also discovered that axis ultimates, stock brake lines, and rear drums could not stop me in time for 10. I now use Cobalt-Spec-b up front, stainless lines, rear disc with Gt-sports. The car doesnt have any percieved brake fade now and i can slow down for turn one enough with all my braeing done over the little hill before it.

Car ran a 1:11.4 on falkens, i hope to break in to the 1:09s with my Ra-1s.
