Tire size for Prelude with 17x7.5's
Has anyone tried the following combination on a Prelude?
225/45-17 on a 17x7.5 & 45 offset
Any rubbing or issues?
I bought my wife a 2nd hand lude and it came with 17x7.5 Rota's wrapped around 205/40/17 tires and whenever my wife and kids ride in the car, I become really nervous because it appears as if the tires are rolling not just on the thread of the tire but the sidewall as well.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Darwin

I did do several searches for wheels, tires, 225/17, 17, 225 and have been having trouble finding the answers. Any help and advise would be appreciated.
Thanks Again,

I had 225/45/17's on 17x8 wheels on my 4th gen lude. It rubbed when I had my kyb's with eibach sportlines, but not with my tein s-tech/kyb combo. I'm guessing this is a 5th gen though. tsw hockenheim. I believe 42mm offset.

first question is what type of tire are you running i run 205/40/17 and my lude is lowered 2 1/2 inchs but i have yoko preda spec 2 tires if you have cheap tires they might be the reason
but you said your rim is 17*7.5 so i would guess you might need a 215 or 225 i would think 215 is better but not to sure
good luck

Thanks you guys for all the replies.
I've went ahead and purchased some new tires late yesterday and decided to go with 215/40-17 for my wife's 97 Lude.
So far so good.
Maybe next time, I'll give 215/45-17 a try to see how they fit.
Thanks!!!

215-40-17 has smaller over all diameter than 205-50-16, therefore, you'll end up spend more gas.

You lucked out, b/c 215/40/17 is the proper tire size for a 5th gen prelude. don't even bother with the 215/45/16 unless you want the extra rim protection.
