I know how you feel. One thing i noticed is your MPH seems low. A 13 sec honda on street tires requires at least 100 mph, really more like 103. I too am having problems. I have 203whp and 2100 lbs and only pulled 100 and 101 mph. When i should be around 104-106 mph. Weather can really play a big role too. But i would recommend tuning and getting some dyno numbers, then your weight, and then you can start to test and tune. THe funny thing is, you get done with a build and you go, "cool, i got this much power, this much weight i should be running this kind of time", but no. Then starts a whole 'nother battle, getting the car to actually go fast.

is that motor healthy? good clutch? first thing i would do is make sure the motor is healthy. then go get it tuned . in my full interior h23 lude i've trapped 86-88mph stock.

sounds weird..and you had a header too. were you spinning your tires all the live long day down the track? i know 13 sec. bone stock H22a hatch's on street tires etc. also what elevation are you at?

Could be alotta things that come into play. like traction, shitty tires? driving (you coulda been nervous and werent flooring it..it happens alot and happened to a friend of mine) might wanna see if thats a healthy motor..get it tuned etc. alotta things come into play. ide be mad cause i know for sure its a 13 sec. car right off the bat given good conditions etc. sorry if i make no sense..its 4:30 something am in cali i just got off of work and i havent slept in 2 days! good luck though

I think the biggest thing you need to do is

PRACTICE

Dont go out with the expectations of running what guys who have been racing for years do on your first tiem to the track.

Even the pros take time to get use to a new setup. Im not no pro, but I remeber my first time out with me A/M race car and I can tell you it wasnt anything exciting, I think my fisrt couple of passes were lucky to get into the high 12s with a 1800lb car and a H22, on slicks.

It all comes with learning how to launch, shifting at the right rpm ect ect ect. I think what you need to is to forget about what everyone says your car should run and learn how to maxamize every run.

Trust me youll get there and then 13s wont be fast enough, youll wanna go 12s, then 11s ect ect.

My biggest suggestion is to work on the launch, I see your running a 2.3-60'. work on that, try diffrent launch rpms ect ect, and dont run the H22 out to 8000rpm, your not making much power up there.

BTW... what wheels do you have on your car? and tire combo?? Suspension can play a big role aswell.

I don't know what could be wrong??? I think maybe I'm not launching high enough? I was launching @ 3200 Rpm's and shifting @ 7200 Rpm's. I don't have a shift tachometer...I was using the stock gauges.

I'll have it compression tested and see if all the cylinders are the same accross the board. I'll tune it after and see what happens?

Hope for the best!

Yeah I know...it's crazy!!! I was so upset. I don't know how to get the car moving faster? I think maybe I was launching too low of an rpm? I was launching @ 3200 Rpm's and shifting @ 7200 Rpm's using the stock cluster.

I'm not throwing a check engine light. The EGR is blocked off in the head with a block-off plate. I think it's because I have all these bolt-on's and not being tuned. I have also the stock JDM P13 ECU...I heard it's crap!

However I am still mistified by these guys running 13's on full street trim and street tires. Something is not adding up? I have the lightest hatch...the damn CX and it's runnign like a FAT PIG! Do I have to put the car on a diet or what? Should I gut the car out??? Lol...this is crazy?

Due you think CROME is a good program? I'm having it tuned by DRT located in queens. I'm not sure about them...it will be my 1st time dealing with them?

*Thanks for the heads up though.

your mph seems low. I've seen similar mph in a 2900 lb car with 135whp @ 6000rpm.

stick it on the dyno and see what happens...I've never been a fan of putting in a used engine without a rebuild first

I think launching a bit higher might help...

also are you sure the clutch isnt slipping?? that could slow you down some too.

again... if it was your first time ever out, I think you just need to get some seat time.. and practice...

Also, where is your distibutor timming set at? and is the car crossing over into vtec fine? do you feel it shift over...

I honestly think you should be faster then that, my stock 4th gen Prelude ( 1992) with a JDM swap runs 14.8 on Kuhmo 712s, 16" eagle wheels, so thier a bit heavier, and the whole car has more mass.

If I recall right, I usally launch it around 5-6K then just hammer through... I have done 2.0 - 60fts before... on those street tires, but the track was in good shape...

Chck out alot of things, what was your tire pressure at aswell... and whats your suspension set up...???

What should my alternator timing be set @? When I went to my local tuning shop they had adjusted it. They said they placed it @ about 16. He used the timing gun. As far as the clutch...it is stock. I'm not sure if it's slipping. Feels fine, my only problem is when shifting to 5th gear it grinds a little.

Thanks for your feedback.

OK something sintright there, I never hit 5th in the 1320...

16 degrees should be ok... although I thought stock was 18 BTDC....

I think your biggest thing is gonna be parctice.

somthing isn't right at all... keep us updated...

my first time to the track with my crx b16a1 ran a 17.2..... lol

then by the end of the night i was cutting 15.00's ... and thats alot less hp then your car.

i'm at 14.6 now with little practice... take that car back and check the compression asap.

I think you just need some practice. With I/H/E and a chipped ecu reving to about 8500 rpm @ 98 mph on bfgs I ran a 13.8 my very fisrt time at the track. Do you have any engine lights by the way?

Yeah, any engine lights. I haven't seen many straight-unchipped p13s do well in civics. Are you running an EGR?

sounds like car has no vtec ... or you ahve a number of CEL lights ... who did the wiring during the swap ?

If you want it tuned and bugs sorted out goto Ralphy at DRT or come by my way if in NJ. I had a dynoday special at DRT for CHROME about a month ago ... where were you ?

I was running 14.8's with no VTEC in my stock H22 hatch. Sounds likie something with that to me. Make sure your oil pressure is high enough for VTEC to engage. You should be getting a lower 60' time too. I am still running a USDM P13, and it seems to do fine with the help of a field VTEC controller. The JDm ecu i had dumped waaay too much fuel in. If you have a VTEC controller, try setting the VTEC crossover at around 4500rpms, and then try subtracting out some fuel in the power band. Just keep trying things and it will only get better.

why would you go to the track with dunlops ...thats your problem and your shifting to early 7200 stock jdm p13 hits redline at 7800 and you need seat time.....but in vest in some 22'' slicks or some bfg drag radials at least......get a good clutch..i had a 6puck act with heavyduty pressure plate held up pretty good when i had my h22..
