Radiator fan not working!!!
ok i just swapped my d15b and pretty much finished just a couple problems, first off my radiator fan dont seem to be working also my car overheats like crazy. when at idle temps at half but when i start to drive temp jumps really fast i mean fast. ahh what do i do
For the overheting part, it is most likely the thermostat. Is the radiator in good condition? There is a thermoswitch for the fan on the back of the block. To check to make sure your wiring, fan relay, and fan motor are working correctly, just use a jumper wire on the two wires going to the thermoswitch and turn the ignition on. If the fan turns on, then your thermoswitch is bad.
didn't know about the bleeding of the system mine won't come on either and the fan is fairly new and radiator is a fluidyne so I doubt that it is and got mugen themor and switch
yeah im thinking the overheating might be kuz of the fan not going on. i really dont want to have to ghetto wire that shizz to work. its pretty crazy when i gas it and start driving my temp would just jump then go back to normal when im idling.
If the temp goes up when you sttrt to drive then it is not your fan. It shoulkd be cooler when you start to drive if your system has the proper mix and level of cooloant, there are no blocks in the radiator or in the system, and your thermostat is working correctly. You need to check over those basic things. Also check the radiator cap to make sure its putting the correct pressure on the system.

thanks i'll try that tomorrow after work!
could it also be a false thermostat??

I agree, it's not the fan. The function of the fan is to pull air thru the radiator when temps get past a certain point, typically when the car is at idle and no air is forced thru the radiator. So it'll overheat at idle and not when the car is in motion. I would check for a sticking thermostat or blocked radiator, etc.
its funny kuz when i first took it out it wasnt overheating or nothing but thats when i had a coolant leak from the hose that connects from the iacv and the block so i replaced that and fixed the leak also replaced my o2 sensor started the car looked fine until i started driving and noticed the temp was jumping really high as i gased it. im thinkin i need flush my coolant and refill it i actually had 50/50 in there first but since i lost alot of coolant all i had left was regular coolant and mixed w/ water.
to refill it with since kragen was close.

theres so many things:1-relay from the fan, fuse exc-2-thermo-3-head gasket-4-fan actually not working or a wire thats touching-5-might be a pump...i mean theres so may things but if u look really good when it over heats u can acually find the problem....good luck buddy
so i drained the coolant put new coolant in and now its not overheating! now i just gotta worry about the fan going on
