Default It's over !!

well i put another clutch in my car so i could make to Hondaday in the morning. tokl it for a spin turned around and on my way back i shifted at 9k and that was it. she shut off !!!! i think the oil pump fucked me. can't even turn it over by hand.


i pulled a plug out and this is what it looks like. from the looks of it the head is proly done too !!



my luck has been so bad this year i am about to sell everything

That looks bad. I think the head is gone as well as the piston.

Either heat or something is running around in that combustion chamber. You will surely find out when you yank the head.

how and why would this happen ? do the keepers let loose and the valve goes bye bye ?

If you pull the valve cover off look at all the components of that particular cylinder.

what brand keepers and retainers were you running? we had a set of stock keepers on crower retainers, and they started pulling through. luckily we found it before it broke

i think Ferrea is the way to go because they supply new keepers with their setups. ive been over 11k on my head more than a few times and havent had a problem yet. the race car revs to 10k and hasnt had a problem yet either.(knock on wood)

I've seen the Ferrea Keepers crack in half and drop a valve...

crower retainers and valves not sure about the keepers i bought it with them in it.

i will be tearing it down tonight to see how bad she is hope the sleeve isn't ruined.

again dave sorry to hear about that mishap. im with everyone else with the idea that you should rebuild. even if you dont get it done till next season, youve come this far at least get it to the point where you can enjoy it a little before you move on. good luck.
