Default diy dual stage boost controller with GM boost solenoid

I have a gm boost solenoid and pig tail lying around and was just wondering if any
body has used one for a dual stage boost controller setup using a single manual boost controller and a preset wastegate spring for low boost? any info would be great. chris

will not work, the gm solenoid is made to be controlled by a pwm output, that is how it changes boost, on/off would just be open and closed.

wow thats some bad information you just gave him.

yea you can do that

I design EBCs, all you need is 12 / ground doesnt matter if its PWM's ground or not.

no, its not bad information. the gm solenoid is designed to be operated in 10-85% duty cycle. applying 12v directly(100%) isn't the intended purpose of the solenoid. Besides, the solenoid is a normally open solenoid, unlike most other controllers.

The solenoid will work just fine doing 0% or 100%. I wouldnt do 86-99% because it would probably just end up closing to 100% or overheating.

I agree with your duty cycle stats, but I dont agree with your logic.

make a simple pwm output for the gm selenoid.
I haven't tested it yet.
