brake booster/ master cylinder clearance issues..... can I dent it a bit without harm?
My itb's have a fuel rail that sits different than stock (duh).
The -6 AN fitting on the drivers' side of said fuel rail is close to the brake booster (the big black round thing that the brake master cylinder bolts to).
The fuel rail fitting actually touches the brake booster - and I can feel the motor at idle vibrating directly through that assembly to the brake pedal. It is of course worse when I press the brake pedal.
I would like to put a small ding in the brake booster - to allow me more clearance of the fuel rail.
I am mainly concerned that the fuel rail and/ or fitting will develop a leak due to contact with this area, and eventually spill fuel out. It sits almost directly above the alternator (spark + fuel = bad things when not inside motor).
I believe the brake booster his hollow and just holds vacuum. So in theory, it should be ok to deform it a bit - so long as I don't break the seal.....
Thoughts?
