i gots a question about a ef. me and my buddies are stumped on this problem with my car and it wen i start up the car. it smokes like hell sometimes and sounds like a big block motor and like dies every nw and then after i start her up. and like sometimes it smells like burning oil and somtimes its just white smoke so idk. i was told its either a misfiring spark plug or a cracked motor block. but at the same time i was toldto put that lil air intake filter on the valve cover like you have and itll fix it. idk wut the problem is with it hopfully you can help me out. thanks for yo time

 

You should check your coolant for oil......could be a blown head gasket.

The valve cover filter won't do anything to help you.

Pull your spark plugs and let us know how they look. Inspect your plug wires and the distributor cap & rotor and make sure they're in good shape.

I'd also check the timing, although if it runs ok mostly then that's probably not an issue.

 

check your compression.
