Stock CRX Top Speed?
Call it a dumb question and flame me all you like. Asking on here is a lot better than getting in the car and seeing for myself.
The car in question is an 1989 CRX SI and I was wondering the top speed in stock form?
Thanks in advance.

find a gearing calc for extact anwser.
so many varibles
doubt most stock can hit that so you'll find a range of #s
to not trying it on public roads though

I think my '91 CRX, when in street trim, did about 120 or so. Mine would govern out in that ball park, maybe even around 160. Search around in your area with someone that has a radar gun, or become friends with a cool cop. It's really the only way to tell because the speedometors are all off a couple clicks at that speed.

112 in an HF i hope that was downhill. Or else still in third and running past the rev limit. 3rd gear maxes out at like 102-105 and 4th aint got enough power to keep pullin. I've owned several HF's and the most it would do was 3rd gear.

Yup...other day was going 115 and my car starting falling apart.
Corner light flew off and that allowed air to fly in and actually pushed out my fender liner. Stayin under 90 for a while...

I went 110 in my stock dx hatch and honestly it hit 98 pretty well but the other 12mph was like 5 minutes It took sooo long to reach that speed......gotta love stock dx's with that nice long tranny
haha you didnt hear this from me but my 91 si has seen 130. the reason i say 130 is because i had my buddy in his mustang gt following me. I do not recommend anyone going that kind of speed in a all stock crx especially with cheap tires.

the most i got mine up to since the clutch is ******* up was like 70 in 3rd gear. my moms cars is diff than mine around the corners (Kia Spec) Cause when you gas hers around corners it just sits there for 2 seconds and then it finally goes. I dont know what kinda engine my moms car HAS BUT IT WILL go 0-60 in 14 seconds. my bro said it was a dual overheadcam. Its an automatic

I can agree with that with my old modded sohc zc. Even with decent suspension and great tires...**** is still scary.

MY track trimmed CRX Si hits 110 on the back straight at Watkins Glen and the Front one at Pocono. This is in 4th gear with a bone stock D16a6 (176K) and tranny. Yes the car can get scary-mainly when being passed by Vipers and 'Vettes
when i still had my d16a6 in my rex i went well over 120 maybe 130 or 135 i think that was fuel cut already. the clutchmaster flywheel made it accelerate extremely fast too.
Damn, my CRX must have been pretty good. Back in the day we used to tear like mad on sat nights down the parkway in Pittsburgh. I used to consistently get 124 mph with an intake/exhaust. I then swapped in a Y8 motor and would get 133-135. I then put a 70 shot on the Y8 and maxed out 5th to the redline. My speedo was planted, but the guy in the Eclipse GT said he let off at 144, so I suspect I was a little beyond that.
100 in a CRX is NOT scary by any means like someone said above. The car is super stable and is very sure of itself. Maxing 5th gear to red line on the juice....that WAS scary in that CRX because my brake rotors were a bit warped and just light brake pressure made that thing shimmy like mad!
