Pressure regulator??

No, thats the EVAP Purge Solenoid. It vents the gas vapors into your intake manifold. Not necessarilly needed, its for emissions, but you will have to vent the gas into open air... Just pick up a new one froma junk yard.

as long as your car is obd1, which i assume it to be, you shouldnt throw a code from it being disconnected.

holy crap, do you even know what you are looking at bro.

that is the evap purge solenoid, it hooks up to the number 7 emissions hose from the charcol canister. if your car is OBDI you will not throw a check engine light as stated above. you can un hook it and unplug it and nothing will happen if your car is obdI

you don't need that solenoid....i don't have one. but if your state requires for smog or something, you'll need it.

loss: killing the air we breathe for no reason.

leave it hooked in, you feel better that you helped the environment.
