Default My car is falling apart, and I leave september 6th... wish it would last.

Matt in Austin TX here, about to drive my car into town lake due to the way its been acting up. First off, I haven't had working break lights in a week. This is the worst part, seeing as I have to get around, I am only endangering myself and others. this pisses me off. The symptoms are the damn lights just won't turn off, so I unplugged the relay connected to the left tail light, so now only 1 filament is on, and its only for turn signals and running lights. This seemed to have come about during a harsh breaking because I was fired upon using water bottles, launched out the window of an Isuzu full of attractive young, drunk girls. My fault for wanting to go with them lol. Number 2, is that the car has developed a misfire. It bobbles really bad sometimes, which all developed today. I told my friend I didnt mind taking him down town, if he gave me some gas, he even pumped it for me. Well, he put in 87 which might account for the stuttering of the engine, but the missfires that drop the RPMs by about 200-300 while standing still and during your first part of a take off is pretty embarrasing. It is currently a 94 Accord EX, 2 Door. My motor is a h22A, which has had motor work done to it. Cams, Valves, retainers, and I think the headgasket was replaced with a Blitz kind. I purchased the car with this work done to it by a good friend of mine, had it for ever a year. The car has a VAFC and was properly tuned (to the best of they're abilities) and has done nothing but taken care of me until yesterday, a year after being purchased. Is this just a bit of TLC required ? Or is there something really wrong with the motor ? I know I need a new break master, seeing as it sinks to the floor at a stop light, and such. Anyhow, any advice is needed. Thanks a ton for any help.

It sounds like you damaged the brake light switch when you mashed the brakes with those U.S. Marine Corp issued boots
The "relay" you mentioned (in the back) is actually a "lamp Indicator module". It turms on those neat little reminders on the dash if one of your bulbs goes "Phfffft"
Look to your brake Light switch (attached to the pedal) for your problem.

The misfire can be any of the following
1) Bad SparkPlugs (use NGK's)
2) Cracked SparkPlug porcelen insulator
3) Bad Ignition wire(s)
4) Carbon track inside Distributor cap
5) Cracked vacume hose in vicinity of intake / throttle body

be aware of sparkplug color when you remove them, they should be a uniform color like an Exttra Light Dunkin' Donuts Coffee.

Good luck during your deployment, and may God look over all you guys. My son (regular Army (Chemical BCN 51st Chemical Company attached to 101st) is leaving for the "Big K" in October.

(and I'm scared sh...less.)

Ah Good to go. Sadly, with all this involved, I am going to need to sell the car. I took it to a shop and they said they just need to tune it, I got new spark plugs, bought a brand new distributer and the bobbling is gone. I can't figure out where to sell her, as Ebay has alot of show cars that people would rather purchase, looks instead of power. Need to get rid of it before the 6th, next tour of Iraq. Thanks a bunch for your support, we are working hard. God Bless yourself as well.

I'm looking to get rid of it for 4K, it has 110 on the Chasis, 48 on the Motor, I have the original gauge cluster that came with the clip (pulled from a lude clip) anyhow, the car as brand new front tires, but it has front end damage that I have fixed up a bit, email me at nsxavatar@msn.com and Ill send ya some pictures. Would have to be local pickup only.

Well, it turns out the switch just needs to be replaced, and the idling problem is A-OK now, no misfires. Cool, still want to sell it though lol.

Glad you got it fixed...GL in Iraq (i assume), your service is appreciated . IMO 4K is WAY low for a 5th gen with h22 swap but your loss = some elses gain.

Ya 4K is Pretty low. The engine+Swap with the LSD was over 4K Alone. Its a 2 Door with Leather, I-H-E, VAFC, don't really care much about the car. Wish I could trade it in for a totally stock one Thank you very much for your support as well.

i would never pay 4K for a car that has been hacked plus it has front end damage? I'd keep the car so you have something when you come back.

Hey, glad everything turned out ok with the car. It's appreciated when we hear back that what we suggested was of some help.
You are right, of course, about selling it.
What with the parking shortage at Camp Pendleton, having to start it occasionally and considering the C.P. you'll recieve when you get home; I'd sell it too
... Maybe a nice converted Fox Recon vehicle (it's got "air ya know) (lol) or an Accord Hybrid (260hp !!! really)

Again, best of luck.
Hope to hear you on the threads again soon
