Default Ahh The Sound Of Vtec

I know i prob sound dumb asking this, i got a b16 ya ya, but the sound of the vtec what in the motor makes that sound? its just an awsome sound and didnt know what made it

It is the cam profile change. When VTEC occurs the cam profiles change, the high rpm cams have more duration and lift, so they are open longer and have a larger amount of air flowing, really you are hearing more internal engine sound, the extra lift i'm sure creates a higher sound volume, and the extra duration is making more of the internal engine breathing open to the environment so basically more sound. This is my theory, but there definitely more science behind it than i am fit to explain.

yes, an engine is basically an air pump, your just hearing it pump more air after vtech, i wonder how honda's vtech boat motor would sound?^.^

on the vtech models it depends on which dialtone you get. Some of them are touch tone...but the old ones (obd0) will click when you dial numbers.

VOIP models are the newest...we might see people swapping the keypads into the older phones.

I'm sure we'll start seeing some jdm antenna conversions as well.

more overlap = more explosion sound getting out basically

combine that with the mechanical sound of the valves opening closing at insanely fast speeds and you have pure sex.
