He'll be waiting longer than that. The new Civics are out in Sept, yes... but the new Si isn't even being introduced to the public until the November SEMA show in Vegas.... meaning it won't end up in showrooms until sometime in '06.

Good luck if you are buying an ep3 in November, a new one that is. You will have to buy what ever is laying around.

I have really enjoyed my ep3, I feel they are a very good value. My HFP suspension should be here tomorrow, with that and some better tires I think the car will be a lot more fun. You will most likely want more power than the 140 or so whp, so start thinking now if you want to swap or go fi.

If you can hold out, the '06 Si is gonna be light years ahead of the EP3 without question. If you do go for the EP3, make sure you don't pay anywhere near sticker as Honda considers the car a failure. Not my opinion though...just sayin.

It's a nice car. It could go on a diet considering it's size. It all depends on what your looking for, personally I was looking for a reliable, fun car and I haven't been disappointed yet with my '04. The '06 is going to be nice, but does not come out until winter. If your looking for big power later on with the ep3 your might be disappointed as the k20a3 lacks aftermarket support compared to other honda engines. The new Si will undoubtedly have a bigger support in the aftermarket.

Very conservative dyno.. most push 135whp. And considering an '03 EP is about 100 lbs more than an EM1, I'd hardly call it a fat bitch.

The new Civics are going to weigh even more.

You can get a great deal right now on a great car. Just don't be picky about the color unless you want to drive to a few dealers.

They're 176lbs heavier if you wanna nitpick, but mainly the EP3 just doesn't have that "sporty" feel. I've heard something as simple as the Hondata flash can correct that a bit, but still.

Those K20A3s have some potential. Someone on another forum has some cams that give it 170 something whp.

From CanadianDriver.com

'99 SiR - 2606 lbs
'02-'03 SiR - 2744.

Difference - 138 lbs. We were both wrong. And yes, the '04-'05 SiR model weighs about 50 lbs heavier than the '02-'03.

As for the sporty feel... you haven't driven one, have you? It's there, just as much as it was in the EM1. It just doesn't rev as high (which is, admittedly, unfortunate).

ep is garbage. Probably the most overrated car ever. There are conspiracy reports out there that say its not a k20a3 in there, but a b16a.

LOL!!! You truly are an idiot, aren't you? The EP is probably the most UNDERrated Civic, seeing as how brain-dead sheep like yourself hate on it for no other reason that because it's fashionable to do so. You'll be first in line to try and get a used on in 5 years, when EVERYone likes it. Just like with EGs and EKs.

Um who the hell are you? your statements make no sense. For your information, I bought my EK in 2002. I didnt get it brand new because everyone made fun of it, honestly my aim is to please people. Why would I roll in a piece of doodoo that looks like a minivan and be clowned.

You JUST proved my point. You needing approval from others to enjoy your ride makes you an insecure sheep. Sad, really...

i just work on the aesthetics of my car because it just looks badass. i guess it's more of a self-gratification thing rather than a... um... others-gratification thing.

If I ever get an ep it will be in 3-4 years. Just dont know why people buy this car for 23K. Why dont people just get a subaru and call it a day. I follow trends, but this doesnt make me a sheep. Everyone follows trends, I'm just the first to admit it.

i figure following trend = being in style (following the constantly changing fashion/style)

not a bad thing.

A few posts ago you just lambasted the EP, and now you're telling me you would consider buying one in 3-4 years?! Are you listening to yourself?

Listen.. I get your point about buying a car used, because it's cheaper. Fine. But the fact that you would even consider buying a car you just slammed is so ridiculous as to make me sick. It's one thing to learn about something new during a fad or a trend, but to live in a little bubble where it, and only it matters... wow. Who dresses you?

man this is getting out of hand. who in there right mind would by a ep for 24k ? i bought my 1st ep new back in 03 for 21,000 new. and in 04 i bought my second ep for 17k. i have no regrets buying it. why would u need to build a car to please other people ? if u build a car it should be built to please yourself and to suit your needs not others. i do admit IMO (puts on flame suit) the b16 is a quicker motor stock than a stock k20a3. BUT by far the ep has way better handling characteristics than an em1. and to tell u the truth the ep is very unique and diffrent than whats inside the box and for that reason thats why i dont think its a big hit with the JDM>everything else h-t theory. thats my 02 cents
