You need to access the Eibach Motorsports catalog:

Follow the link Johnny sent you. Or if you are beyond lazy e-mail the exact spring rates (coil bind height obviously changes w/ higher rates if the wire size changes) and I will give you the info.

i'm pretty sure i'll be ok. already looked at the bind height compared to the 8" same rate. and can even safely assume the static height compared to fully compressed height.

say 6" 650 lbs with approx. 597 front corner weights
and 2" wheel travel to upper arm contact on shock tower.

will leave enough compressed height not to bind

but was looking for first hand knowledge. thanks

I know that TypeR47 was having issues with his 6" springs and has replaced them with 7" or 8" ones. He was basically bottoming out the spring at beaverun through turn 7-8. I cannot remember if this was the front or back, but I am pretty sure it was the front with rates around 600-700.

Edit - This was a DC2R, and I'll point him to this thread so he can hopefully reply.

I haven't had a problem with my 6 inch springs. Im not THAT low but low enough. I've been more concerned about steering geometry then anything. Looking forward to the next post on this topic.

thanks for the info.
had a auto-x this past weekend and had good pics taken.
it was on roadcourse so,real smooth. even so, almost all the whel travel was taken up left-foot braking for a decreasing radius turn. will go up to 650lbs. front
i do not want to run 8" springs and then just adjust to almost the bottom of the sleeve.

i'm not REAL low, but still 4.25" to f jack pad

Hey... sorry I'm late. Yep, coil-bind on the front going through T5 and the bottom of T7, into 8 at BR. The rear is fine, though I would highly recommend 7's or 8's. It just gives you more room for adjustments. For most Auto-x, 6's would probably be fine.

btw... I have a pair of 2.5 OD 6" 650 H&R springs for sale if anyone is interested PM me. They have one event on them. :-) $65 shipped.

fwiw, my 850/750 setup uses 8" springs and i have plenty of adjustment range. on both ends. i'm almost as low as your car too.

I took a closer look at the front suspension on my car, since it was doing some weird **** at Road Atlanta, and it felt like something was bottoming out.

At ride height (jackstands under the LCA's), the spring is 4 5/8" long - so I have a little over 2" of spring travel before they coil bind, and the shocks will bottom out before that happens. There's no marks on the springs at all to indicate they are coil binding so I think I am ok, but it is close, maybe too close incase I hit a big bump - I may go to 8" springs all the way around over the winter. Car has SPSS3 konis, 600/800# springs and Ground Control top mounts.

Yeah RJ... 6"ers are cutting it way too close for track use. AutoX shouldn't be a problem. But I wouldn't consider too much street driving with 6's either.
