Default OT: Formula1 on TV?

I'm getting excited about the upcoming F1 season - but I'm a liitle worried that it will not be on TV with the new Speed channel focus. I think I recall Speed Channel saying they would continue showing F1, but I cannot confirm it on their web site.

Does anybody know if F1 will be broadcaston TV here in the states?

direct from the Speed Channel web site:

Formula 1
It’s fast, it’s furious and it’s dramatic. "Formula 1" is the pinnacle in four-wheeled motor sport. Yet it’s more than just man and machine pitched into battle around the globe; it’s about personalities, multi-million dollar budgets and a script that wouldn’t disgrace a soap opera, enjoyed by millions the world over. From Sao Paulo to Monza and from Silverstone to Monte Carlo, it sets pulses racing and adrenaline pumping like no other sport. Also known as Grand Prix Racing, Formula 1 is the highest echelon of racing in the world. Once again the SPEED Channel provides LIVE F1 coverage in 2002.

Read the last sentance over anbd over again till you get it. The key word is in big uppercase letters. LIVE!!!!! So whenever the race is, expect to see it on Speed Channel. I dont like or follow F1 so I dont know the schedule. Check the official site or something and keep counting down till about a week before hand. Then check the speed website

That is good news - hopefully we will see live Friday practice and live Saturday qualifying as well. I'm looking forward to another season of waking up early, early Sunday mornings to watch the race live...

Next Thursday, Formula One PRactice is listed in the schedules as 11PM and 3AM. Hopfully those are Live times and not the new F1 Time slot!! Where is the first race??

First race is Australia, so you won't be waking up early Sunday, you'll be staying up late Saturday, march 2nd. (Technically very early sunday)

Hey Flux, Don't worry the coverage will be the same as last year. Friday practice, Sat qual, Sunday race day. Remember speed channel dosn't have the rights to live coverage of the US gran prix, ABC has those rights. Enjoy and GO
Mclaren!!!!

I've been watching soccer quite a bit on Fox Sports Espanol, and I've seen a few F1 commercials. If it comes to worse, just flip to Fox Sports Espanol for F1 coverage.
