Default Grinding noise, from wheel when turning?

I have a strange, metal/metal sounding griding/scraping/rubbing noise coming from the drivers front tire when turning. It mainly does it when turning right, but I can hear it faintly (I think) when turning left also. It happens even with quite small steering inputs (1/8th of a turn or less), but it is speed dependent.

I jacked the car, and cant feel any play in the wheel, checked the dustshield doesnt seem to be hitting anything. Any other ideas?

I have a track/autox event this sat/sun, think the car might survive?

I thought CVs were more of a "clicking" sound? THe car is under warranty but I took it to the dealer and they said they couldnt even have someone listen to it until next week they were so backed up.

Are you sure it's from the wheel? Does it happen at all speeds or high or low speed? I *think* when my wheel bearing started to go it made some odd noises when turning right before there was any noticeable play in the wheel

-jeff, who wishes he was still under warranty

Yeah its from the wheel, or wheel area for sure. It happens at all speeds I think, I can even crawl around the parking lot at 2mph and its screeching away. I took it by the Honda dealer at lunch and the dude rode with me, he said he tought it was either a brake pad guide/warning indicator thingie (which I will look at tonite) or wheel bearing. The prob is they cant cover it under warranty b/c they are Honda not Acura (at least that is what he said).

If it occurs while turning, try checking to see if your inner fender lines have detached. Hungster had this problem where it would rub against the tire when turning or when the wheel was turned.

how about checking to see if you pushed the factory dust shield into the rotor when you worked on the car last?
