Default Question for D-series guys?? DX supercharger on an EX head????

My friend has a JR supercharger for a SOHC dx motor. I am beggining to piece together a little crx. I am dropping an SOHC in the crx with the S/C.
I have a question. The supercharger is made for a SOHC non vtec, I was wondering If it could be used on a SOHC v-tec head? Will it bolt up directly if not what would need to be modified?

thanks

it will bolt up and run fine.....you just need it tuned specific for your car. which means, you cannot use his management system without it being tuned for your application. It's not like superchargers or turbos have a little chip in them that says 'oh, I'm only for Vt4k'......all a supercharger is, is a turbine, in a housing, that is belt driven to force more air in.....it doesn't care what engine as long as it fits and doesn't leak...

thanks for the lesson on super charging
I was really asking If the IM's on the non-vtec & vtec heads are the same
will the supercharger bolt w/o fitment issues.......I am not well versed on single cam motors........are the manifold ports the same...you know what I mean??

all d-series have interswappable manifolds .....so if it's a supercharger for d-series.....guess what the answer is.

The fact that the people at jackson racing are retarded maybe?

Check the part numbers and see if they are the same. Even if they arent, Im willing to bet the supercharger itself is still exactly the same.

a d-series supercharger WILL fit on a d16y8, I bet as soon as you told Jackson Racing you had an '89......they were like "um.....Nope!"

Next time you talk to them, have them come on here if they have questions.

I told them it was a 2000......but it didn't make much sence to me that it wouldn't fit......maybe they thought I would buy one for the ex motor if the other one didn't fit.... yeah OK!!!.... well who knows thanks
