Default paint scuffs from factory protective covering

i just realized today that there was some protective covering on the windshield, not directly on it but you know the frame that supports the windshield, well i just bought a 05 GPW, and i thought it was black this whole time, so i carefully strat peeling off the covering, i used some 3m adhesive remover to get the excess sticky **** off, well now there are several small spots where it looks like the paint got scuffed, not really the paint but the clearcoat, it looks like the adhesive from the covering might've pulled up some off with it while i was peeling the **** off, my question is, how the hell can i fix this, the car looks cleaner now that its all white, but the small scuffs which can only be noticed if you look really annoy me, i was thinking of waxing and buffing ut i want a for sure fix cause im just **** about the small things, i want everything perfect

That black vinyl is intended to be left on the window fram permanently, although some owners do choose to remove it. Finding blemishes, paint imperefctions, and even unpainted spots is typical, as the area was not intended to be exposed.

You can try buffing out the rough spots with a light rubbing compound and then cleaner wax. Or you can buy a new peice of tape from the Honda dealer and put it back on.

^^^ Holy **** man, go the **** away. lol, what are you trying to prove?

Alot of people i know that have the hardtop did this, and a couple of them found the same issue, where it looks like the clear coat is damaged, my one friend claybar'ed it and had my detail guy high speed buff it and it came out real nice...

I personally dont care for the look without the hardtop, but with the hardtop, i think its almost neccesary.

How bad are the scuff marks? Try an semi-agressive polish with a cutting pad using a rotary buffer to try to get them out. If they're really bad, wetsand with 1500grit sandpaper and then buff out the sandpaper marks. Hope this help!

I've seen people do this all the time.

SH, you act like you know everything, BUT YOU DON'T.

Oh yeah, I completely forgot to mention. If the scuff marks aren't that bad (do they catch your fingernail if you go over them?), you might be able to take them out by hand. Get some Meguiar's ScratchX and an applicator pad. Work the polish into the scuff marks, going in the same direction as them. Don't be afraid to use a little muscle. Repeat this a few times. If it doesn't take it out, it will atleast minimize the appearence.

Smoking weed is cool. Vandalizing your own 05' s2k in the first weeks is even cooler. Hows that paint looking around your windshield? I guess it doesnt matter when a bank owns your car anyway. Good thing you have the motivation to get it fixed! Yay for you
