Motor is Struggling-any ideas
I have a boosted d16z6. I boosted it down the highway to get pass a couple cars. As I get going, I hear it bog up and it chugs a couple times. I slow down and as soon as I hit the city roads, it chugs like crazy. It wont go pass 4,200 RPM. When it reaches 4,200 rpm it cuts off. Any ideas? Thought it was an ECU problem so I swapped it with a friends and does the exact same thing. Would it just need a good rebuilt? Planning on swapping in a d15b for the time being and rebuilding the z6 for boost. but anyways, does anyone know what may be the cause of this problem?
I have dsm injectors and running uberdata. Why would it cut off at about 4,200 rpm though? If my injectors were going bad, it wouldnt cut off would it?

Are you sure limp mode would allow him to rev to 4200? Most of the time I see it stopping at 2500 to 3000.

I have a CEL but thats because my o2 isnt hooked up anymore. I checked for codes the day it bogged up and no codes other than 41 appeared. I tried out a buddies ecu and it did the same thing.

How exactly do you think your motor is getting feedback?

96+s have more than one 02 sensor. 92-95s just have the single 02 sensor.

I knew the 96 and ups have multiple sensors and the 92-95s had one but when I read what the motor was it just didn't register with me.

it happened before o2 was disconnected. I disconnected the o2 since the motor started to bog up I though maybet it was the o2 causing it. Diconnected the o2 and tried a friends and still didnt fix the problem so I left it out and never put it back in. Thats why I stated that it that the o2 wasnt HOOKED UP ANYMORE. After taking the o2 out I checked for codes and of course I knew it was going to throw code 41. I just didnt feel like puting my o2 back in since I couldnt figure out the problem and I had a d15b sitting in the garage anyways.

I guess I retract my previous statement...i'm going to go ahead and say ECU problem then. But get a working 02, cars usually bog with bad/unplugged 02 sensors.
