Would 99' OBD2 ECU works on OBD2B (00+) teg without harness?
ok heres the thing....
Recently i converted my teg to Stick but then the shop told me that the 99' ECU wouldn't work unless i buy the harness from them..... but the thing is that i have tired it myself before and 3 of 4 plugs fits in (it's auto so 4) then why da heck the 99' ECU doesn't work? When they mean it doesn't work ... does it mean that they have tried it but the engine won't start? or they just want me to buy the harness from them which is unessery?

it is my understanding you will need NO harness to use the new ecu. it will plug right in. someone verify this for PaChiLa Leader so we can be 100% sure. Thanks, and good luck
yeah man.. that's what i thought too...... coz i tried it before and it did plug right in but at the time my car was auto and no clutch engaged so car won't start.
I am gonna try it sometime tomorrow and see if it does work since now the car is stick.

one more thing.......
the reason why the shop still using my Auto OBD2B ECU is that my teg has immobilzer in it... like the chip thing or whatever has to match the code in order to start the car. We tried the Type R one sure it didn't work coz the code didn't match~~
Guys, what can i do to fixed this problem? my engine light is on the whole time.. and my car can even start without engage the clutch like an auto.
heard that i only have 2 ways to go:
1. use OBD1 or OBD2 ECU with Harness if needed..... but then i will lost my immobilzer funtion..... which is gonna be suck only 2000+ teg has it
2. get another OBD2B 5 speed ECU. But do i need to get a new chip to match the code with the ECU in order to start the car? and if i do..... is there any way that i can get it from other than Dealer.... coz try not to let Dealer find out i did the conversion. alright, so what happens if i happened to change the keys and stuff.... does it mean i have to change all my car locks too?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am stuck at this point
someone plz got to help me out here
Thanks

You are going to be SOL on the immobilizer system if you replace the ECU and don't know how to reprogram the ECU for the key. I'm sure it could be done by the dealer after they look at you with lots of confusion, but their are people on this board that can help I'm sure.

I think you will be able to reprogram the new ECU to work with the new key... just gotta hope the right person sees this post. The immobilizer is a great system... I'd definatly try to stay with it.

i was thinking to do OBD1 ECU and turbo it before did the auto to manual conversion and never thought that immoblizer will cause the problem like this.....
This whole thing is gay~~ i really hope someone here who knows my situation can help me outta this crap~~
more importantly .... wants to get rid of the engine light ASAP.
Thanks again PB FOOT
Problem:
You want to run a 1999 manual Integra ECU in your 2000 auto converted to manual Integra.
Assumptions:
-You have a 2000 Integra auto converted to manual
-You want to run a 1999 Integra manual ECU
If these assumptions are correct you WILL need a harness to allow the 1999 Integra manual ECU to work.
This is the reason why...the 1996-1999 Integra ECUs are the same. They changed the 'plug arrangement' for 2000-2001. When I say 'plug arrangement I mean that in 1996-1999 the manual ECUs used plugs A, C, and D. In 2000-2001 the manual ECUs used plugs A, B, and C. They are essentially two different ECUs when speaking about the internals. For a better explanation look at the ECU wiring diagrams in the Helm's manuals.
Solution(s):
You have three choices here:
(A) Get a 2000-2001 manual Integra ECU and do the recoding necessary for it to work.
(B) Get one of my OBD2v2 to OBD2v1 harnesses and run a '96-'99 manual Integra ECU. You will lose the immobilizer function but it is a VERY easily defeated anti-theft system.
(C) Get one of my OBD2v2 to OBD1 ECU conversion harnesses and run an OBD1 manual Integra ECU. This will be your best choice. It will allow you to run a test pipe with no CELs and have your ECU reprogrammed at a reasonable cost.
These are your choices. If you have any questions email me. Good luck.

Wow~ Thanks a lot, Kenji. Great Info.
so now i have got 3 choices now huh...
i would go with OBD1 ECU conversion but then i will lost the immobilizer funtion.
Are you saying that theres no way that i can keep the immobilizer funtion unless i get a new OBD2v2 ECU and sure that i will need to reprogram my keys and door locks right? Are there ways to avoid the dealer to find out what's the deal i am working on here? I try not to go to the dealer till theres "no way out".
And would it be possible to reprogram the NEW OBD2V2 ECU to match the code on my key instead of changing the door lucks and the chips?
Thanks again

Oh i forgot....
so what's the deal here when i start my car i do not to engage the clutch pedal?
1. coz it's Auto ECU
2. They didn't install the manual switch--if it's this one then what happens if i change an 5 speed ECU does it mean i would need the switch or i can just let it be... but then to another point as security system.... the auto starter wiring on bypass clutch pedal ( correct me if i am wrong) how da heck am i suppose to know the car won't suddenly move when i start it from upstairs~~
