Can I use complete mpfi harness into my dpfi?
First of all, i know that it is much easier to just rewire the dx harness, to make it a mpfi...ive done the swap once before. BUT i just picked up this car, a DX hatchback, and the wiring is FUCKED up.....from the ecu, to the ignition, to the radio, to the dizzy, to the rest of the engine bay... Butt connects, loose exposed wire, half of it is electrical taped, the rest looks bare wires.....its a big *** mess
Besides the amount of time to take out the entire harness...i have the complete crx already out, is that the only drawback to using a complete SI harness, vs only mending a DX?
I would think everything would be just fine.......minus maybe the cluster since the dx doesnt have the tach...
But to take my DX hatchback, and remove the entire harness and motor, and then replace it with an entire CRX SI harness and D16A6? It should be possible right?
I have everything needed.....but is it possible? It will take a while longer yes, but if you saw that wiring, I think everyone would agree with me....and do this, or get ahold of another stock dpfi harness.....both engine and interior.
Thanks in advance...i did try to search, but couldnt find a direct answer

Correct.....I mean to use the CRX SI:
Engine bay harness
Interior harness
D16A6 motor
And most likely a cluster if it is necessary
It will take a long time, but it is free since i have it already, and i figure it is the only way to make sure it is all clean
If i redu it with another dpfi harness, im still replacing both the interior and engine bay harness since its beyond repair

It might take some time, but i would swap the whole chassis harness vs. trying to fix the dx harness. I fixed a swap for some guy once where they chopped all the wiring up and ended up just replacing everything...under the dash, engine compartment, ect. BTW, arent u on RPR? Your car kicks ***

Hahaha, thanks man.......you have no idea what its gonna be like in less than a month.......ill keep you all posted
But the wiring IS beyond repair......im just asking if anyone else has ever swapped an ENTIRE harness, but i dont see why there would be a problem
And no jamar....this is my red 91 i had and sold.....then i got it back, so i need to fix it, and sell it again
91 dx std Im guessing is what they are called

OK, thing is, if you swap a CRX harness into a hatchback, none of your heater controls will be the same. Those do not match between CRX and Civic hatch, so get a Hatchback Si harness, NOT a CRX harness. Then you'll be set!
Can't express this enough - if you use a CRX harness in the hatch, you'll run into headaches under the dash.
Match year, match vehicle type, and you can change the model of wire harness. But don't mix and match CRX with Hatchback, or years.

Yeah, that makes sense......i took out the interior harness last night out of the crx
How about if I just splice into the harness...on the interior, on the branch going towards the drivers side::
That was all the wires going into the ecu are in their stock placement of crx si....and the part going into the engine bay is stock crx si.....then the whole engine bay harness is stock crx si......
But then the harness under the dash.....towards the driver would be stock civic dx? Would that be possible? Did that make sense to anyone at all? haahaa
