97 accord shifter problem help

Default 97 accord shifter problem help

ok, shifter is not releasing, i beleave the shifter solenoid is bad. i have to step release step release in order for the solenoid to kick in, sometime longer. where is the shifter solenoid located?

The shift interlock solenoid is under the shift console. You have to remove the center console between the seats and then you'll be able to see the shift solenoid.
I have had bunches of these that just got gummed up from coffee/cola spillage, it might be worth a try to spray the plunger with WD-40 and work it a little bit.
