Default 96 ex motor

i was planning on installing a jdm 96 ^ civic motor
in my brother in law's (car 96 ex)

i just wanted to knoe if the motor will pass smog? (cali)

So....a d16y8 in a car that already has a d16y8? Im guessing the current engine died.
You can get a usdm one for a lot less and locally, probably.

But that's not JDM.

I think in Cali you can get the motor BAR'd so it'll pass smog.

Holy crack JDM this and that.......... its cool but dont do something you dont know how to do...(if u dont know the engine code, then obviously you probably wont be doing the swap yourself. get a usdm motor . if you are worried about passing BAR.

yeh really this jdm thing is gettin outta control, and any engine can pass inspections if done correctly, with that said have it proffesionally done, and knoe by the way isn't know, too bad h-t didnt come with a dictionary.
