What brakes to upgrade to for 6th gen I4?
Hey guys, it's about time for me to change my pads and rotors and just like the title says, what should I change them to? I want something that'll perform better than stock, but not a big brake kit since I'm on the stock 15" rims. I've seen Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors for $205 for all 4 discs, but I'm a little cautious about crossdrilled rotors since I hear about the potential cracking. Any other suggestions?
dont get that garbage.....
just throw some hawk HPS pads on there and flush the old brake fluid out of the system with new and let us know if that suits your needs.
if your rotors are past machining tolerances..... throw some brembo blanks on there.

Things to do:
1. New brake pads. Hawk, Axxis, etc (good reputable brand)
2. Better brake fluid (never lower than DOT 4! Get good stuff, but dont overdo it and get race spec brake fluid or something
)
3. Stainless Steel wrapped brake lines (make sure the brake fluid won't damage the lines, some fluids will eat away at teflon, rubber, etc. the new lines will make your pedal firmer).'
4. Brembo blanks. Any brembo slotted or drilled wasnt done by brembo. They're all done by the shop that sells them. So you're really taking a gamble on them. And they're pretty much useless unless youre building some heavy duty car.

hey thanks for the replies guys. Yea I think I'm gonna go with the Brembo blanks and Axxis Metal Masters for pads. Do a brake flush, but I've had varying opinions on the brake lines. The firmer pedal feel is for sure, but as for increasing stopping power, there's alot of debate. The steel brake lines won't flex like the OEM ones do, but I'll probably jus go with the discs and pads first. Thanks guys!
Yea i've heard mixed things about the SS lines. They wont stretch out over time and the pedal wont be mushy, but i've also heard the steel may fray and damage lines if you dont maintain them... I dont know what they'd do for stopping power besides pedal feel but that's up to your taste
good choice wit the blanks and pads. I think there's an HT sponsor that sells the blanks for cheap

Oh really?...I should check out the sponsors section then. Any idea who it is? Right now I'm checking prices on Nopi online and they seem to be pretty good, $36 each for rear discs and $37 each for fronts. The Axxis pads go for about $28, but I'm not sure if it's just for a pair of rears or for the entire 4 corners. One of my concerns is whether or not they'll ship to Canada, yes I'm a Canadian lol.
Use Nopi or TASauto.com to find the part, then buy it on HT or ebay
Another good source of oem parts is majestichonda.com

THat's the brembos, a few bucks cheaper than the Nopi

Ding ding ding for we have no clue!
Congratulations on not reading anything we wrote. May your ghetto drilled and slotted rotors warp and crack under pressure.

haha accordselux. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out, I contacted NOPI today and I have to go through some supplier here in Canada to order the parts. Kind of a hassle, do you know if the shop from that link you sent me ships to Canada? Anyone buy from them before?

random troll batman..lol
most of the brembo drilled rotor you see on the market is not drilled by brembo..lol
just in case why the drilled rotor look so much like the brembo blank, well, they used a blank to drill one to suit your need for visual performance
