holy shit..... will my drivers side axle nut ever come off?????????????
k so i have a 89 si................with a axle nut from hell..... it has to be like welded on there i swear... ive broke 3 breaker bars in the proccess... .. even a craftsman... i dont have any power tools and i dont really want to tow my car to a shop... does anyone have an idea how i can get the bastard offf???? thanks in advance guys
Make sure you pound the nut peice out of the notch in your axle that may be keeping it in there.
Take a dremel and cut a notch in it ALMOST all the way through (so that you don't mess up the threads, unless you don't care about the axle). The nut should come off with ease after that.
Well if you're replacing the axle, you can just drill through the axle nut. Drill where there is a slot in the axle, the part where you would notch in the lip from the axle nut down after you tighten it usually. Drill it until you put a split in the nut, it should break right off then. Had to do that on my DA
The reason you drill in a slit is to relieve the grip the nut has on the threads of the axle.

the notch will not hold that nut taht tightly, its probably seized on from dirt and rust, if you keep snapping 1/2" breaker bars, you could go and get some 3/4" ones, but those are $$
i snapped 6 crapsman breaker bars in a row before i gave up and pulled the whole knuckle off and brought it home to zip it off with the impact wrench,

I snapped a Snap-On 1/2" bar.. Get an Impact gun. They are pretty cheap if you already have an air supply.

the axle nut and the crank pulley bolt, are the two most stuck bolts on a cRX..
and newbs seem to have issues with the bitch pin..
