best drag radial??(poll)
Which is the stickiest most soft compound drag radial out there? I just bought 2 brand new azenis rt-215's for $25 ea.(through a friend) and the differance is night and day!! i have a 630hp civic, and on low boost (420hp i had an extrememly hard time getting traction on es100's.
The only gears i could get traction in is 4th&5th. and in 3rd, they would just let loose at about 6500-7000rpm's and 2nd gear was'nt an option. Once i put the azenis215's on, I could'nt believe the difference! Traction is not nearly as big as a problem as it was on the es100's. I can actually WOT it in 2nd and shift to 3rd, with 70%traction, before if i tried that i would just sit and spin right when i shifted to 3rd.
But i know theres alot softer drag radials out there, and i deffinetly want the best!
so what is the softest drag radial out right now?
p.s. Both es100's&azenis 215 were 205/50/15's But considering 225/50/15, 215/45/16

You can't post a poll for Drag Radials. HT is so bias against any other tire without even trying them....But there are ppl that have used several so they have a say. All i can recommend for you are the Nitto 555R's.
They are perfect for the track and street without worrying about changing wheels all the time if your a track *****. So if your gonna change wheels, then run slicks. That is my suggestion even though you asked for the best drag radial.
So you got my answer.

You wanna give an example in 60 foots, given a setup with no changes, just comparing Nitto 555R's and BFG drag R's?? That's a pretty bold statement you know. Not picking a fight with you, just curious.

Wow!! thats insane. my best on street tires is 12.7@112 on low boost, and thats shifting at like 7000-7500. I cant imagine getting traction on high boost even w/ drag radials.
If you can really run a low 11 w/traction with m/t drag radials, then its definetly between those and bfg.
So wich do you guys think i would get more traction with?

555r's 2.0 most of the time a 1.9 here and there..
BFG's 1.8's
205x50's
never got a chance to try the 225's when i went to a 2.0L
if you gonna run 555r's i'd rather run my Federal tires that i paid $43 each for kuz i can pul 2.0 60 ft with those!
thats my opinion on what i have seen.
ive ran about 10k+ on BFG's daily and people who know mw know i mean Daily...there are VERy few that can be more daily then me.

My buddy Jason/Blown90Hatch ran a 10.8 or 10.9 on his first pass with M&H's DOT tires.

exactily. stiff sidewalls are not ur friends in drag racing. they will help ur car hop to the finish line though.

I love my Hoosier DR's, light years better than my old BFG DR's, and just as good as my old Hoosier slicks. 1.8 60's on a full-weight coupe.
