The 1988-1991 Civic STD (called CX in other countries) uses a narrower radiator than other 1988-1991 Civic models. But ALL 1988-1991 Civics can accommodate EITHER radiator. And if you are buying an aftermarket radiator, chances are the aftermarket manufacturer just makes a single model (ie non-STD) since the non-STD radiator will fit ANY 1988-1991 Civic model AND provide enough cooling. So don't worry about using the bigger radiator. If anything, it will be better.

Install the radiator with the top tilted to the beck in order to fit under the radiator support. Then seat the bottom mounting pegs in the grommets and bring the top back. It should fit. If it doesn't, make sure the bottom is indeed seated.
