Just recently the insurance companies released their list showing that the Acura Integra (all versions) is still the most stolen automobile in the United States.
Although the DC2 ITR has dropped in value recently, it's still true that all the brake, suspension, motor and transmission parts will fit in all manner of other Hondas with little modification. There will be a continuing demand for Integra swaps of all kinds as long as those hundreds of thousands of Civics are all still on the road waiting for an enthusiast to find a swap for them.
My personal solution is to make sure the car always looks so bad that nobody would believe that it's worth anything.
(Sigh.) I have about 1/2" of rusty brake dust that I should get off of these Spoon wheels one of these decades.

Great! Instead of getting the most reliable sports car on the road, get the least reliable sports car on the road!
How many engines has this RX7 gone through so far?
The third-gen RX7 offered outstanding performance, definitely quicker than the ITR, and great handing too. Too bad they had such terrible reliability problems...

What about the the new RX-8? Still same problems? If I remember from a friend the main issue on the RX-7 was heat; I heard thye had like two or three temp. gauges.

It's only unreliable if you make it unreliable. If you take proper care of it and maintain it (you do have to do a lot more maitanance), but if you take care of it right, you will not have any problem. You do have to however purchase a few JDM OEM pieces and cooling parts to keep it healthy. Thats one downfall. But tell me the last time you've seen a clean stock 3rd gen 95 RX7 with 31k miles... You don't find those

Sorry, but that's not true. Not true at all. Plenty of owners did all the proper maintenance and still had many, many problems with the car - including every one of the bunch that I've known personally.

Yeah, at 31K, it's only gone through about 75 percent of the life of its first engine.

The problem lies in the fuel filter not being chagned out often enough (or ever!) since it's a real PITA. It gets blocked then you start running lean in a turbo-charged engine: boom.
It's located high up in the rear axle area; some shops will bullshit ppl saying they've changed them (and charging for it) even when they haven't.

i must agree...im a member on RX7 forum (www.nopistons.com) and they can be very reliable as long as you put in reliability mods. ex. are aftermarket radiator for heating issues, an aftermarket temp gauge, and they have also found a way to relocate the fuel filter into a more "accessible" position
but then again, some dont take care of their car at all and most for sale these days have a rebuilt motor, since they blew up the original
