That Dan Beeson is such a TOOL...
Update:
Sorry for not answering e-mails, phone calls and the love letter John Whitaker sent me that had perfume on it... LOL "Just Kidding"
Jason "Vador" Franza, "Jador" for short... Welcome Back... "Even though you do not return my phone calls"
• Traded vinyl and signage for a 91 Civic HB Std. from Chris Stiffler, OH/IN Region.
• Decided to build it for H5 but with no approval from wife. We worked it out... I Think?
• Gutted the car late Winter.
• Ordered a "RoadRaceGear" Air Dam from Whitaker
• Landed a investment deal (Not Sponsership) for funding from Rapid 2 Way.
• Pulled motor and trans, sent it to Jim Lucas for re-build, LSD, and gearing.
• Met the Curpier's half way and dropped the car off to them for Cage, and... Ah Hell... They are building the whole damn thing... Thanks to Pete and Adam, without them, this would not be possible...
• Ordered Custom Header from OPM (I do have it in my pocession)
• Ordered most of everything that I needed mechanicly.
• Motor is Done... Need to get to Curpier's.
Guess What happened next?
I ran out of money...
• $700 deposit on motor, still owe $2500
• Still Need: Seats, Harnesses, Gauges, and everything else you can think of for the Interior. Front Windsheild, Front Bumber Support, Pass. side Fender, Front Calipers and Rotors, Rear Trailing Arm Bushings, Radiator, Hoses for Engine and other misc stuff for Engine Bay.
This does not also include: NASA License, Track Time, and Gas, Food, Lodging...
So, I am on the prowl searching for funding and parts...
All you newbies out there, listen up... YOU CAN NOT BUILD A RACE CAR FOR $7500!!!!!
Buy one, or if you still want to build, you are going to need around $12000... IF YOU ARE LUCKY.
Thanks to evryone that has helped and listend to me talk about racing with HC for many years.

You also need to factor in about 10k worth of free time and frustration looking for oddball parts, picking up/dropping off parts, etc etc
It's much cheaper to just bench race and browse h-t.

you can build one for $7,500 .. but YOU have to build it.. also you have to choose what you spend the money on. personally I would not have built the motor, trans, LSD until you had the track time to use/need it.
my H4 car still has a "junk yard" motor in it, and until this last race (almost a year of racing) the motor, trans, and ecu went untouched! The car was not a front runner, but it was competitive.
now that I have worked though my rookie status and save a little money I have started to put more into the car..

Exactly, it took less then 5k to build our accord.. It does truely need a good cage though..

and on the other end of the spectrum, building an ITA/H4 car, using all top-shelf components costs more than $15k - and takes about 2 years if you take your time.

Very true. You can probably build one for $7500. You cannot have one built for $7500.
....and damn, $3200 for an IT Honda engine?! Well, I guess you had the tranny done too, but it still seems steep to me.

Sounds awesome Dan. Can't wait to see ya at the track!
Now someone on the "Eastside" buy JohnW's H5 CRX - I don't want it to go somewhere like Missouri! (But don't tell Dan that John wants half what it's gonna end up costing Dan to build!

Sunbelt head = $1200
Bottom end rebuild w/ machine time and you do your own assembly = $2000
Sounds fair to me.

There was a H22 powered DA running USTCC that did very well...
I dont think I would write off the H22.

That $3522.75 (Actual Price) got me a complete re-build on the bottom end and top end. Also included: Valve job, pistons and all of the machining...
Transmission: Complete re-build with new gearing and final drive, Quaiffe (had to be machined to fit in the 4 speed), and Race Clutch, the whole nine yards...
The car will be very well prepared and reliable...
I may be fast or slow in the beginning, but damn, the car is going to look good no matter what. Actually, I am going to win because you guys will be distracted by all of the naked women I put on my car... In Vinyl That Is...
Beeson Designs Paint Scheme Coming Soon... I have one word to say... Orange
