hey guys, so today i got a d16y7 gave to me for free, i was just wondering if this engine is worth doing anything with, or what, i havent really heard anything about them, i know it came from a 97 civic dx i believe, but i was just looking for your opinions thanks in advance

so no one has any ideas, well i was thinking about putting a z6 head on it, and getting a cam and things like that, it only has 47,000 miles on it, so idk, but if any of you all have ideas let me know

not a bad motor...mine ran 9.5's w/ a z6 head...stock on es100's

I put one in my new daily driver im putting together.
I havnt really looked at the specs, but its similar to a d16a6 (minus the intake manifold of course).

You ran a 9.5 with a d16y7? Damn! What all was done to your car?

Also, the motor is not bad at all. Boosting it would be an option worth looking into. I'm thinking about doing that with my 00 hatch.

yeah im not sure what i really want to do to it other than a z6 head, i was just checking to see if anyone else has used this block before

thats all i use! i've had 3 of them, they are cheap and easy to find! i blew 2 up on a 75 shot and have been boosting my 3rd one for about 6 months now! just use your harness, dist, ITM and what not, it's easy!
