anyone have an obd 2 motor in a obd 0 chassis???
I am wondering if anyone here has an obd 2 motor in a obd 0 chassis and if so what is your setup? I am having trouble getting my motor to run right. Currently I have a b16b in my 89 si. I am using a obd 0 first gen b16 distributor, injectors, and the pr3 computer. It does not feel like it has the power it should and I am also throwing a code two for the oxygen content. I am pretty sure that this is due to running rich. My idle is erratic and I tried to block off my iacv but then it feels real sluggish. I don't know if this computer is doing this engine justice or maybe I should go to obd 1. Is there anyone out there that has any info on this or has done this swap before suucessfully? If anyone can post their setup I would appreciate it. I just want this thing to run right because it is my daily driver. Does anyone know of a knowledgable tuner that is in pittsburgh pa? PLease help. thank you
Well bro do you have both oxygen sensors hooked up? if not thats why you're throwing a code 2.
Your best bet imho is to upgrade to obd1 using a chipped p28.

<-----Will be running OBD1 using OBD 2 dizzy, injectors, etc. on my JDM B18c (r), pretty much same thing you have. Do you still have the obd2 equipment?

I still have the injectors that came with my motor. So basically all I need is the b16b injectors back, the conversion harness to go to obd 1, and an obd 1 or 2 distributor with an obd 1 p28 computer? What about the resisitor box? Do I need this to convert to obd 1. Sometimes I wish I'd just had swapped in a first gen obd 0 b16a. I would have been cheaper and it would have ran better. This is turning into a real nighmare. Please let me know how you plan to run your b18c obd 1 swap. I sure would appreciate it. Thank you.
I am using an OBD2 B18 engine in my car.
I used the OBD2 injectors, no resistor box, and an OBD1 dizzy and ECU. (with obd1 ECU harness)
I made my own ECU program to make use of the 1800cc maps. Runs like a dream.

I suggest you fix your code before deciding to ditch OBD-0 and blow more $ into OBD-1.
You have the proper setup and it should be running just fine.

As 4drEf said, its probably best to trouble shoot the codes you have first and get it running, but I would definitely convert over to obd1 somtime in the future.
I will be running my OBD 2 injectors and distributor on my modified stock harness from http://www.rywire.com and the OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness from (blownhatch = http://www.jkobd.com and also supplied through rywire). I have a chipped p28 (OBD1) that I will also be using. I chose to have someone else do my wiring b/c I didn't feel like having down time trying to chase electrical gremlins. At least if i have a pro do it I am pretty much guaranteed that everything will plug right up and run.
You could also DIY and there are plenty of wiring diagrams online along with plenty of people to help.
