the exhuast mani on my friends 97 ex did that and it not even modded or driven hard. I've heard it is a somewhat common problem

mines an hx(thus far) and by no means a perfromance machine,its stock and AT with a very shitty CV tranny so im confused as to what caused this

i have a d16z6 with a cracked *** manifold, makes a fluttery clicky noise like you said
