USDM Swap inquiry/1988 Hatch Std restoration
I know that everybody and their brother wants a JDM swap in their beast, but I want the stock USDM motor replaced in my ride with the same thing (yes, I know, I am crazy). My problem lies with the fact that I want a virtually new motor (D15B2) and a new-ish 5-speed D-series transmission. I know I can go to my local Honda dealer and they will gladly bend me over and rape me, I know I can go to a local junkyard and rebuild one from a wreck, and I also know I can rebuild what is already under my hood.
That is not the point. I want a like-new (less than 50,000 miles, so I realize that new might be my only option) version of the STOCK D15B2 that came in my 1988 Civic Hatchback STD with a nice 5 speed that I can PURCHASE (not rebuild) and not get raped by the seller. Does anybody know where to go or who to contact regarding the info I need?
The goals of my search:
1. maintain same wiring and mounts (I am not good at wiring, and I have no plans to do so at this time)
2. maintain low cost and high fuel economy (I know, Honda is fuel economy as it's best, but I like my D15)
3. maintain ease of removal and installation (replacing with the same unit as was removed is as easy as it gets)
No flaming please as I am merely seeking information, not opinion. I have searched, and there are no results for USDM swaps.

Your best bet is going to be to find someone who is swapping out a rebuilt d15 for something else because the likelihood of finding a d15 with less than 50k is going to be very difficult. Good Luck in your search
I have found one for $150 in the local Las Vegas area and somebody to work on it. Thanks for your help!
