Infineon Crossover VIDEO (H4 #78) + Pictures (Saturday) August '05
Infineon was pretty fun, even though we weren't there Sunday.
We were probably the last ones to leave Socal at about 10pm on Friday. We got to Infineon a couple hours before the gates opened.
We got in after the track crew came and set up next to Jeremy and Rick Hohwart, where Jeremy saved us a spot.
The pits were pretty cramped up even though all the trailers had to be parked in a different lot.
We got ready for pratice and Edik took it easy to learn the new track, but only got in 3 lapd because of the sentra/crx incident. During Qualifying Steve Elllseworth and Rick H. pulled away in the beginning, but at the end of the session, Edik learned the trakc quickly and started to real them in and was able to learn the track quick enough and take POLE. awesome job.
The Standing start for the race was very nice and took a while to get it set up since there were so many Hondas. Edik's drag racing experience came into play as he took off and passed a couple of H1 cars, but soon had the rest of the H4 pack behind him. He dropped a couple of tires here and there but still kept it on the track as he was still getting used to the track. He started to pull away from the pack but misshifted before the last turn and had to pull off into the pits.
I was bummed out that that happened because he was starting to do better each lap around.
We got home on Sunday at about 5pm, unpacked and started to remove the engine from the car. We found out that the valves had dropped into one of the cylinders and put a nice big hole in the piston. So we're now left engineless and have to figure out something before the next race at Willow
Even though our weekend was cut short it was fun to see all the Honda Challenge cars. I think there was about 30 of them and only in H4 and H1. I think the biggest HC gathering so far. Hope its bigger next year.
I'd like to thank our sponsors for helping us out.

Good stuff
I'll try to have my video up tonight. I didn't really have a race all weekend, so it was pretty boring in the back of the field, but I did have a few entertaining moments. I think I need to get a Si motor so I can run up closer to the front where all the racin' is.

If I remember correctly, Bernardo said he was still over weight. I am not sure by how much, but it was a pretty decent number.

Nice pics. Sorry to see you guys go so early. Could've been alot more of them as I wasn't ready to let him wander off into the distance.
We'll have to have a go at it next year with a different car. I've been thinking of going Integra for a while now and now seems like a good time. Our CRX is for sale. 100% mechanically legal for SCCA ITA for anyone who interested.

Rick, if you want an Integra I can build you one, ours set track records at Thunder Hill at the last SCCA race there and another one at Laguna Seca this weekend, we have got it dialed in now, wish we could have been at sears but had a blast at Laguna Seca.

Well almost.LOL, So I passed Bobcat going into T6 on the first lap and drove away from him for 3 or 4 laps until a full coarse yellow came out, we went 2 laps under yellow and on the first green lap he passed me in T10 but I got him back in T11, I built up a lead again and there was another full coarse yellow, they gave us the green with 1 lap to go, Bob was right on me in T10 again so I went inside to block but not enough, he put 2 off on the inside and got by me and blocked me in T11, we drag raced down the straight to the checkerd flag, he beat me by a foot...........LOL

The video of the white Nissan was taken from my car. The more I watch it, the more I wonder what the hell he was thinking. He went off three times in one lap and was clearly out of control. I didn't talk to him afterwards, but maybe those of you in the same region will watch out for this guy now.

What was the out-of-control Nissan's car number?
