Default Type S totalled (now updated with carnage

Yep, My little Brother totalled my type-S last night on his way home. He had his girlfriend and his two friends with him. They were all seat belted in, and they all walked away with minor injuries and one broken arm.... THE CAR ROLLED 3 TIMES AND SLID DOWN THE ROAD ON ITS ROOF. I am stationed in the middle east and the phone call was difficult. he's seventeen so I'll blame it on inexperience and leave it at that. I normally dont let people drive my cars but his old jetta is broken down and he needed a car. I'm just thankful this happened in my car and not his, he'd probably be dead. Thank God for honda's safety technology and let this be a reminder that all things are material. And that when all is said and done, theyre just cars, My little brothers still alive.....

Brand new to me

Yeah, that's so true....a car can always be replaced...but you're brother's life can't be. Good thing he's okay...good thing they have that little thing called "insurance"....

Good thing he is alright. But what the heck was he doing that he managed to roll it 3 times, I think that might be a nice little story.

Stay posted, I think the motor and tranny may find its way into an older Cx hatch. Ive done 3 vw engine swaps(1+turbo kit) , never a honda though. We'll see. I have to see what the buyback from the insurance company is going to come out to. Theres no good story to the crash, the car did the classic RSX rear end slide out mid turn...maybe too fast for the corner... but he wasnt excessively speeding, he tried to recorrect, swung the other way and laid the belly of the car on the edge of the road, flipped three times, slid a lil into a tree which knocked it back on its side said and done... crazy wreck, he said they all just felt like rag dolls... stay posted for pics of the scene and the car...

A swap into an older CX hatch is definately possible(I did it), though if your brother totalled the RSX than the performance of the hatch will definately overcome his driving abilities. Are you going to do the swap?

its good to see people have patience and all, if that was my brother and he totalled my car he would have a lot more to worry about then injuries.

were the ECU's swapable? dosent the immobilazer work when the engine is different? how does this work with the 05's? i was planning to get an 05 and kpro reflash, but i also wanted my warranty, so i was planning on getting an extra ecu that i can throw in there when i need to go to the dealership to get something fixed

I am glad to hear everyone is mostly ok. Sounds like something I would have done when I was 17.
