B20 stroked----or----turboed--please read....
What's up everyone. Same guy new screen name. I just recently was in a car accident that totaled my 89' CRX. I had a B20b in it. Normal mods. Intake, header, exhaust, intake manifold. No internal mods however. Eventhough, the car is wrecked, all my engine and exhaust componets, and new brake system were saved. I am in the process of having the engine pulled and transplanted into a 91' ls integra. I was orignally going to turbo the engine. But after taking some time to think, I have changed my mind and have decided to stroke the engine, and put a 50 shot of NOS to it. Here's my question. What company is good to go after as far as a stroking kit. And is there a benefit to all-motor(stroked), compared to a turboed B20b non-v-tech either(I wish to stay full B20. If you have any suggestions please reply.
if you have your mind set on stroking that engine you would need a good crank.
crower makes excelent cranks for them.......but in all honesty your better off just getting some forged pistons and rods and build up a turbo kit.
the stock crank is probably the best forged and balanced crank on earth.....no need to swap it out. its been proven to take LOTS of power. stroking it will only lower your power band which the OEM B20 is already hurting with.
like i said before....some good forged internals and a nice turbo kit will work great. if you decide to go N/A B20 non-vtec you might be able to hit 170-185whp. a nice 8-12psi turbo kit will give you over 300whp properly tuned.
