Default Amsoil 0w30 synthetic

I'm currently running Amsoil 0w30 sythetic in my car and I wanted to know if this could be causeing unwanted friction in the engine bay. When my car is on its running great. When I turn my car off it makes this low grinding noise. I can barely notice it but I can tell there is something going on. Almost sounds like a fan was going and it was dirty which caused it to slow down faster then normal making a slight grinding noise. No its not my fans if thats what you might say cause I checked that.

before I was using 5w30 synthetic then switched to 10w30 for like a month to see if there were any gains. Only thing I got was less gas mileage. I'm starting to wonder if this 0w30 is no good for my car. Amsoil techs told me it would work great as a replacement for 5w30 and 10w30 oil. Any info would help.

There is no point in running 0w30 being that you live in Cali where the temps never get below 40.

I'm running 5w30 temps have been -10 and I havn't had any problems. 0w30 is for extreme cold like -60.

Stick with 5w30 or 10w30.

Here is what I got from the AMSOIL page.
0w-30 synthetic
Race-proven technology designed for passenger car performance. Provides unsurpassed fuel efficiency and up to twice the wear protection provided by popular conventional and synthetic motor oils. Recommended for use in all vehicles requiring 5W-20, 5W-30 or 10W-30 motor oils. Product Code: TSO

I dont understand why it would make a difference in the cold temps. if 5w-30 does that just as good. I just want to know if this oil could be too thin for my car which could cause it to grind or something else. Maybe I just need a full tune up.

If anything, it will lubricate the engine much quicker due to its less viscous nature.

I'm on my second change of Mobil 1 0W30

and the car runs great. I took it to TX world speedway on 0W and I had no probs.

The car may consume slightly more oil than with 5W . . . but i didnt notice a difference.

I don't think it will necessarily cause more wear & tear, but your engine will always be noisier with a lighter weight oil.

i'll second that... engine slightly louder, lubricated better than 5w-30. take it to a reputable import tech in your area. acura dealer will say it is caused by using the oil since they didn't sell it to you.
