Default 92 2.3L Blown?? Swap?

I'm new to this forum and Preludes. I really love Hondas (have 3 of them) but this one has thrown a rod. It is a 92 SI 2.3L (h23?). I am not really into modding it really I just want it up and running. What engines can I drop in with ease? Obviously a direct swap would be easiest but what else will fit. I am looking around for an engine now. Don't need anything fancy, just a solid engine that runs well. I am also considering selling the car. It is in great shape cept for the engine blown. All other parts, etc work great! Thx for the answers in advance!

well give us a location im sure people will have motors to offer. you have three options to put the original engine in. and many more options for jdm engines. The three original are the f22 (sohc non-vtec), h23 (dohc non-vtec), h22 (dohc vtec). all are easy to replace. the only difference is you have to run vtec wires for the h22. the easiest would be the h23. most people on this forum will tell you to go with the h22 vtec.

I recommend doing it the right way now and get yourself an H22 longblock and P-13 (H22) ECU. Use your existing H23 tranny. Change some of the major seals, water pump, timing belt, clutch, and axles. Then you can call it a day.

Either way, if you decide to keep it, you won't regret it. Also, if you decide to sell it, it will be easier to sell because many people want the H22 motor already installed in the car. You can get more money for it too.

You can part out your H23 motor to make back some of the money too.

if your not really looking to mod it i would go with the h23 or your stock 2.3L replacement an do as said above, seals, tiing belt, waterpump, etc.
